U Anand is the Head – Reliability of Static Equipment at Reliance Industries Limited.
A graduate in Science from University of Chennai followed by graduation in Metallurgical engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
Close to 30 years of experience in managing the integrity of assets in large to very large Petrochemical and Refineries.
He has a deep understanding of design of static equipment and degradation mechanisms in typical refinery and Petrochemical plants. He has vast experience in application of conventional and advanced NDE’s for in service inspection of assets. He also drives development of new and advanced NDE methods by collaborating with academia and Industry. He has a vision to bring in the next generation technology in NDE for process plants that will be on-line and real time.






Tushar Mukherjee is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from GSITS, Indore in 1986 and a Chartered Engineer (India). Currently he is Head- Procurement Inspection at Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) Hydrocarbon Division. He has been recognized by RIL’s R-University as a Prolific & Impactful Facilitator. He is also a Prolific Ideator in Mission Kurukshetra the Idea portal of RIL.
He has over 34 years of work experience mostly in inspection of fabricated process equipment, piping & engineering materials and also in design appraisal of static equipment e.g. pressure vessels/columns/heat exchangers, erection/commissioning & mechanical maintenance of process plant equipment. He has worked for organizations like Shree Synthetics Ltd.(2.5 years), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (6.5 years), Lloyd’s Register Asia (13 years), and was Head Procurement Inspection at Essar Projects India Ltd (5 years) prior to joining RIL in August 2013.
He is an ASNT NDT Level III- PT, MT, RT & UT. He was qualified as Level III in UT in first batch of ISNT Level III in 1992. During his tenure in NPCIL, he was involved, inter alia, in Pre-service inspections of Nuclear piping welds and in-service inspections of reactor pressure tubes. He has developed & approved the NDT Written Practice for RIL based on which he is involved in NDT personnel Training & Certification activities. He has conducted multiple sessions of training and certification for NDT Level II in DPT & MPT and is preparing to roll out Level II certification program in RTFI & UT. He was also a qualified ASME Authorized Inspector (AI) as well as ASME Authorized Nuclear Inspector (ANI) and was involved in multiple Joint Reviews with ASME and has inspected/certified numerous static equipment as per U/U2/U3/S & R stamp.
He is a member of ASME Sec VIII India International Working Group that works as a subordinate group to the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessels Committee. He is Vice Chair of ISNT Mumbai Chapter. He is also a member of ASNT, IIW and The Institution of Engineers (India).
